7 Swaras music teachers bring over 60 years of combined professional experience. At the present moment, 7 Swaras music school offers piano, flute , guitar, drums (bongos) and veena lessons.

Sam - GUITAR/PIANO/KEYBOARD/DRUMS

Sam teaches Guitar, Keyboard and Drums (Electronic Drums and Bongos) at 7 Swaras. Sam is a versatile and highly talented Guitar/Keyboard player brings over 30 years of musical experience to 7 Swaras. He studied Carnatic music under the guidance of Chittoor Vaithialingam Bagavathar in India. In addition to playing, teaching and performing music, he has composed music for many albums in India and North America. One of his noted accomplishments was working with the legendary Indian playback singer Shri. S.P.Balasubramanium along with Mr. Mathian (NY). Sam is a health care professional works in Ottawa.

Siva - FLUTE

Siva teaches Flute at 7 Swaras. Siva is one of the few flute players in Canada who can play both carnatic and contemporary Indian style music. He brings over 20 years of professional experience to 7 Swaras. Siva was born in Canada, he started learning carnatic music at the age of 8 under the guidance of Guru. Shri. "Chidambaram" Dakshinamoorthi (India). He has performed many recitals across North America for the past 15 years. In 2003, Siva accompanied noted Bollywood composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan at his concert in New Jersey. One of his noted accomplishments was the release of his musical album "Cine Jewels on Flute" for the HMV record company (RPG-SAREGAMA in India). Siva has also worked with popular Bollywood singers such as Sujatha, Harini and Swarnalatha. Siva is an engineering professional works in Ottawa.

Lakshmi - VEENA & VOCAL

Lakshmi teaches Veena and Vocal (Carnatic) at 7 Swaras. Lakshmi, a graduate from the Sri Venkateshwara College for Dance & Music (Andra Pradesh, India), obtained a degree in music (B.A music, Telugu University), brings over 30 years of musical experience to 7 Swaras. She started learning Carnatic (vocal) music under the guidance of Shri. Sathya Narayana Garu. Later Lakshmi went on to study Veena under the guidance of Sri. Kalaimamani Lakshmanan (Chennai, India). She was a regular performer at the Lord Venkateshwara Temple in Tirumala,India, which gave her opportunities to meet legendary artists like Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi, Sri. Chitti Babu, Sri Bala Krishna Prasad and Smt. Sobha Raj. Lakshmi is now working as an instructor at the French Catholic School Board teaching one of the regional languages of India (Telugu) and Carnatic music for kids and adults.
